SEAM: Open Forum

SEAM will be hosting an evening Open Forum hosted by the board of directors. The meeting will run approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and will be an open discussion within the membership on issues facing the structural engineering profession in Maine. A prime objective will be to have attendees interact with each other and the board by raising concerns, sharing experiences, and comparing practices. It will also be an opportunity for those attending to give feedback to the board on where they see SEAM can be improved.

Some of the topics expected for discussion are:

– Major design issues facing structural engineers right now
– Software
– Codes and Standards
– Legal Issues
– Concerns/question people may have with SEAM

Note: In an effort to reach out to those members outside of the Portland area we will be holding this meeting in Augusta, at the Senator Inn and Spa, off I-95.

***UPDATE: This meeting will be broadcast live online!***
We are offering this option to reach out to those members that may have difficulty attending due to the remoteness of their location. Of course, we would prefer you be there in person, but if that’s not possible then hopefully this will be a more convenient option. Please select the appropriate option when responding. You will receive instructions on how to join the meeting closer to the date
