Welding Failures and their Causes

SEAM will be hosting this dinner seminar put on by Warren Swan of the New England School of Metalwork in Auburn, Maine.

Learn about the types and causes of weld failures, such as fatigue, cracking, and inclusion of defects. The presentation will also include instruction on spotting common defects as well as physical samples for examination.

Warren Swan, CWI, CWE. Warren is the lead welding instructor at the New England School of Metalwork, a position he has held since May 2002. He is responsible for the everyday operation and long term planning of the welding program as well as organizing and instructing classes for individuals and companies. His current welding certifications include AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and AWS B2.1 pipe
