Special Inspections Information

SEAM Special Inspections Resources:

–SPECIAL INSPECTIONS SECTION IS PLANNED TO BE UPDATED IN THE NEAR FUTURE – STAYED TUNED–

The SEAM Special Inspections Task Force has created IBC based Special Inspections Statement Forms. These forms were created with direct reference to the requirements of the 2003 International Building Code, within the frame work of forms readily available from the Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE). SEAM also created forms for non-structural disciplines, recognizing that non-structural disciplines may be searching for resources for preparing their Statements of Special Inspections. The Design Professional must modify these forms to meet project and IBC Code requirements; SEAM provides these forms only as a reference starting point for Design Professionals. The Design Professional is ultimately responsible for compliance with the IBC requirements.

These forms may be downloaded at the following links:

Other Special Inspections Resources:

CASE has a 28 page Guide to Special Inspections, along with Special Inspections Statement forms. These publications can be found on the CASE website.

The Structural Engineers Association of New Hampshire (SENH) has an informational pamphlet available based on their work on Special Inspections. That pamphlet can be found at the SENH website.

Other Structural Engineers Associations have Special Inspections information available on their websites. Also, NCSEA has a Special Inspections/Quality Assurance subcommittee which may be helpful.
